Dog update

In one of my first blogs, I wrote about how the dogs had gained some weight and the vet told us to switch foods and walk them more. I am happy to report that Sadie showed a 17 lb. weight loss at her appointment today! Jada stayed home today, but she's looking good too, so we know she's lost weight as well. We can attribute this weight loss mostly to the switch in food....Sean and I are seriously thinking switching to the same dog food. :)

Photography practice!

On Saturday, I took one of my nieces to downtown Bloomington and Miller Park for a 'photo shoot'. She likes to ham it up, so I figured she'd be a good model. She wasn't into it much at first, but after 10 minutes, she was saying "what about right here?" "how about this place?" "ohhh, over there!" So, in all, I think she had just as much fun as me. The only photo editing software I have right now is Google's Picasa, so that combined with my lack of photography knowledge don't make these professional grade by any means....but that's what practice is for, right?! Starved Rock

This past weekend we went camping at Starved Rock State Park campground. Sean's birthday was Saturday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY SEAN!), and we celebrated by climbing up and around Starved Rock (on stairs, not the actual rock), tasting a few wines at the Starved Rock Wine Festival, and grilling steaks at our campsite. All in all, not a bad birthday for him!

Our friends, Steven and Elizabeth, joined us for the weekend. They were are first camper guests! My sister and her family also camped, but in their own little summer home. It was their first time in there little pop up, so they had fun learning the ropes.

Garden buddy

Because of the recent torrential rainfall in Central IL, I hadn't been out to my garden in quite awhile. I finally went out there tonight to check things out and cut back some tomato plants. I have quite a few bell peppers that will be ready in a few days. And many, many green tomatoes. Anyone want any green tomatoes?? In a few weeks I'll be tearing out my tomato plants, and I'll have around 20-30 good green tomatoes. Mmmm...fried green tomatoes!!

I found a few of these caterpillars on my tomato plants - they blend right in!

The Ewald/Johnson Wedding

Once again, we had a fantastic time at the wedding of a member of the Morton crew. Congrats go out to Mr. and Mrs. Kathleen and Griffin Ewald! They are relaxing on a Hawaiian beach while the rest of us are trying to recuperate and work at the same time.

There were many cool things about the wedding, but the two I just have to blog about were the homemade pumpkin ice cream (true Morton fashion) and the McDonald's cheeseburgers on silver platters that were delivered to the reception around midnight. Now it's time for some pictures!

I kid you not, it was a Cheeseburger Paradise! All you single people, keep in mind that your friends will love you for ordering a late night snack at your wedding reception. Those are the same friends that will love you for the open bar. :) (See the waiter dude in the background carrying the platter o'burgers? He's also looking for his cheeseburger hat that Katie stole...)
